American Staffordshire Terrier Diet

What Should I Feed My Staffy?

A little About American Staffordshire Terrier.
The American Staffordshire Terrier's muscular, stocky build requires physical activity combined with proper nutrition to ensure healthy development. The quality of dog food you choose to feed him does makes a difference. The higher the quality, the more nutrients it will provide your Staffy and ideally the healthier he will be throughout his life.

Nutritional recommendations
You will need to offer high-quality dog food to your American Staffordshire Terrier.  You want to feed as naturally as possible so look for a holistic food. Never feed your American Staffordshire Terrier a food that has poultry by products,  corn, wheat of soy. No added sugars, sweeteners, artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. Real meat should always be the first ingredient. You want an antioxidant rich formula. Taurine supports heart health. DHA promotes a healthy brain development. A balance of glucosamine, calcium and phosphorus is ideal for strong teeth, bones and joints.

Feeding Schedule
Depending on your American Staffordshire Terrier's activity level and size, you should feed him between one-and-a-half to two-and-a-quarter cups of a high-quality, nutritional dog food daily, split between two meals. To avoid bloat, delay water and food for at least one hour after strenuous exercise.
