Cardigan Welsh Corgi Diet

What Should I Feed My Cardigan Welsh Corgi?

About Cardigan Welsh Corgis
The Cardigan Welsh Corgi originated in the Cardiganshire area of the Welsh highlands over 3,000 years ago. His roles were hunting and chasing cattle over a larger grazing area to help ensure they had a sufficient amount of food to survive in a rocky environment with scarce amounts of grass. Low-slung Cardigan Welsh Corgi have short legs so they can snap at the heels of stubborn cattle and then dodge them.

Feeding recommendations
We recommended feeding your Cardigan Welsh Corgi one to one-and-a-half cups a day of high-quality, premium dry dog food with no artificial preservatives, sweeteners, flavors, sugars, or colors, divided between two meals. The food should be made in the U.S.A. and veterinarian developed and backed by PHDs in pet nutrition.

Nutritional requirements
For your Cardigan Welsh Corgi, we recommend foods that have real meat, such as chicken, beef, or turkey, but no by-products listed as the main ingredient. You also want to choose a grain-free, all natural, holistic formula free of any soy, wheat and corn products. You want an antioxidant rich formula. Look for taurine to support the heart. DHA for healthy brain development. Since Caridgan Welsh Corgis are at risk for back problems making sure they have an ideal balance of calcium, phosphorous, and glucosamine to strengthen their bones, teeth and joints. The best diet is one customized for your Cardigan Welsh Corgi designed particularly for him based on his health, age, gender, and activity level because all dogs have individual nutrition requirements.
