Entlebucher Mountain Dog Diet

What Should I Feed My Entlebucher Mountain Dog?

About Entlebucher Mountain Dogs
The Entlebucher Mountain Dog is a Swiss herding breed with energy to burn. He's recognized for his loyalty, passion, agility, and intelligence. While self-confident and independent, he bonds strongly to his family and is happy spending the day at their side.

Feeding Recommendations
We recommend feeding your Entlebucher Mountain Dog four to five cups of high-quality, premium dry dog food a day, spread over two meals. Large-breed puppies such as the Entle need slow, sustained growth to help prevent orthopedic problems, include hip dysplasia which is common to this breed. Make sure to avoid food that contain soy, wheat, and corn.

Nutritional Requirements
Your Entlebucher Mountain Dog’s nutritional requirements include a balance of protein, fat, and calories. The protein content should be between 22 and 24 percent, and fat should be about 12 to 15 percent. Real meat (no by-products) should be listed first on the ingredient label, such as lamb, beef, venison, elk, and chicken. Vegetables and fruits should also be included as good sources of Omega-3 and Omega-6 essential fatty acids to keep his coat shiny and skin healthy. Glucosamine is ideal to help support your Entlebucher Mountain Dog’s bone and joint health.

What Brand is Best
Diet and nutrition is probably one of the most important decisions you will make for your pet because it affects their long-term health, immune system, vital organs, condition of their teeth, coat and even affects their lifespan, so educate yourself and choose wisely.
