Eurasier Diet

What Should I Feed My Eurasier?

About Eurasiers
The Eurasier is a medium sized breed hailing from Germany about 50 years ago. The Eurasier is a large crossbreed of the Samoyed, Keeshond, and Chow Chow, and is well-known for being social, quiet, loyal, friendly, intelligent, alert, and affectionate. The breed is well-mannered and calm, and is an excellent family companion.

Feeding Recommendations
Because your Eurasier is a medium-sized dog, we recommend feeding him about two to three cups of high-quality dog food that is properly formulated to meet his nutritional needs. Avoid formulas with allergen-causing ingredients, such as corn, wheat, or soy.

Nutritional Requirements
Your Eurasier has special nutritional requirements that include a high-fat, high-fiber, medium-moisture, dry food diet. Because hip dysplasia is a common condition with Eurasiers, ensuring he maintains an optimal weight is crucial. An antioxidant-rich formula contains a good source of natural Glucosamine to help support his bone and joint health, and provides a balanced ratio of linoleic acids. Look for real meat listed first on the label, such as beef, poultry, and venison, as well as vegetables and fruits. It should also have balanced Calcium and Phosphorus for tooth and bone health, as well as Omega-3 and Omega-6 Fatty Acids for healthy skin and a shiny coat.

What Brand is Best
Diet and nutrition is probably one of the most important decisions you will make for your pet because it affects their long-term health, immune system, vital organs, condition of their teeth, coat and even affects their lifespan, so educate yourself and choose wisely.
